Oh goodness guys, I have been dying to post this review on book 2! This new dystopian series in my opinion is up there with The Hunger Games and Divergent. Courtney’s story is along the same lines as the other two series BUT, she has her own unique twists and outcomes. The book starts back with Q & B and we will meet all new people who may not be what they seem. I promise you just like book one, you won’t want to put book two down until you’re finished. The ending is one that will have you reeling!
Fair warning, if you have not read book one “The Sixth Domicile”, be prepared to read spoilers in this review. So I suggest check out my review on book one and get your copy today, then check this review on book two!
So in the end of book one, Q removes her mask in front of all the people of The Sixth Domicile, her love for B and her freedom sets everything in motion for change, for the life everyone deserves. Q and B were discovered together and are accused of defying The Elders by starting the revolution. The result of that, Q and B were sent to the muertre, where it is said is where you go to die.
It’s so pretty! Courtney and her illustrator used the same purple as the first book. I kind of wish she would have went with a different color, I guess to represent The Vrai Domicile. But at least her books match 🙂 I love the mask on the cover. In the first novel, you see B’s mask, with the gold glitter. Now in book 2 we see Q’s new mask. Its the designs she sees representing a warrior.
What is book two about?
Q and B expected death when the Elders ordered their execution. What they discover instead changes everything they thought they knew about their world. Saved by the mercy of the Elders, they awaken in the Vrai Domicile, a mysterious place hidden below the Sixth Domicile housing hundreds of former rebels.
Except these rebels have been brainwashed, conditioned to be blind followers.
Q quickly learns of the Elders’ new plan for her – she is to become their warrior, to reunite the Vrai and Sixth Domiciles with purity, love, and unwavering faith. But to Q, she’ll be undoing everything she and the rebels fought for.
Now Q and B must fight to survive once more, forced to forge new alliances with strangers who promise nothing is as it seems. But surviving comes with a choice – follow the Elders and quash the Revolution, or defy them and free the people, putting B’s and Grandmother’s lives at risk.
In a place where the fire of rebellion is extinguished at every turn, can Q continue to be the spark that fuels the Revolution?
